Acute Oncology and New Models of Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
Over 100 colleagues joined us in Leeds to hear about developments in Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC ) from a strategic point of view in NHS England and practical service delivery innovations in the UK. It is clear that the delivery of efficient high quality acute oncology services 24/7 requires a collaborative approach and involves a wide range of health professionals and specialties.
The presenters demonstrated how SDEC principles developed in acute medicine are being implemented by acute oncology teams and also how acute medicine has an increasingly important role in the delivery of 24/7 care fo AO patients.
